Practical Philosophy in the Ethical Works of Ghazālī
Research Interests:
The reception of Greek practical philosophy in Arabic; the relationship between ethics and politics in Muslim medieval thought; comparative political and social philosophy; the reception of ethical and political thought across traditions; Ghazali.
Biography:
Abaas has spent considerable time as a practitioner involved in projects and initiatives at the intersection of religion and contemporary affairs in the Middle East and the UK. His academic experience includes recently teaching a Foundations of Political Thought seminar. He was previously lecturer for the Quranic Arabic paper in the Faculty of Theology and is currently a tutor for all Islam related papers.
