I am Professor in New Testament and Early Christian Studies, and the G.B. Caird Fellow and Tutor in Theology at Mansfield College. I have published and edited numerous books and articles, including The Pauline Effect: The Use of the Pauline Epistles by Early Christian Writers, The First Letter of Peter: A Global Commentary, Deliver Us from Evil: Church, Theology, and Deliverance Ministry, and Now You are God’s People: Reflections on 1 Peter. I am currently working on a monograph on sightlessness in the New Testament and ancient world for Cambridge University Press, a work which sits at the intersection of three vibrant conversations in New Testament studies: sensory studies, reception history, and disability studies and theology. My colleague Erin Heim and I were Highly Commended for the 2024 Vice Chancellor’s Award for Inclusive Teaching and Assessment.
