Originally from St. Charles, Minnesota, William Smith is reading for an MPhil in modern theology at Linacre College. Before matriculating at Oxford, William graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in
theology from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA. After his graduation from Notre Dame, he completed a Fulbright grant in Humenné, Slovakia. His current research interests include the thought of John Henry Newman and its reception in the 20th century, religious epistemology, theological aesthetics, and secularization.
