Biography:
After completing my DPhil under Professor Markus Bockmuehl working on the regression motif in Paul’s letter to the Galatians, I served as Tutor in Biblical studies at London Seminary alongside my work as Associate Minister of Oxford Presbyterian Church and as Director of B-Less, a small charity placing postgraduate students as mentors and encouragers among undergrads. In 2022, I accepted a part time Research Associateship at Keble College, Oxford, combining tutorial teaching, supervising Masters coursework projects, and service as an examiner with a new research project focusing on Luke’s interaction with the Old Testament.
Research Area:
Biblical Studies: New Testament
Research Interests:
Pauline letters, with a particular interest in the theme of regression in Galatians. Luke-Acts, with a particular interest in Luke’s interaction with Old Testament narratives.
Current Projects:
My current research project concentrates on Luke’s use of Old Testament ‘partner narratives’ as a rhetorical device in his telling of the story of Jesus and the early church. Engaging in an important and energetic cross-disciplinary conversation about the nature and use of allusion in ancient literary cultures, as well as in the study of reception history, and wider strands of Old and New Testament scholarship, this fascinating project has already generated three conference papers and substantial sections of a monograph which I hope to complete by the end of 2026.
