The Faculty of Theology and Religion warmly congratulates MSt student Cayla Bleoaja, who has been awarded the 2025 Peacocke Prize by the Science and Religion Forum for her outstanding essay, Cycles of Life and Blood: A Theology of Menstruation.
The essay was selected from a highly competitive field, with submissions judged on criteria including originality, scholarly rigour, clarity of argument, and contribution to dialogue between science and religion. The judging panel commended Cayla’s essay for offering “a well-considered evaluation of how menstruation may be understood as a form of participation in the divine life” and praised it as “an excellent starting point for further discussion and debate.”
The Peacocke Prize is awarded annually in memory of the Revd Dr Arthur Peacocke, founder and former chairman of the Science and Religion Forum. The prize recognises exceptional student work exploring the interface of scientific and theological inquiry.
We extend our congratulations to Cayla on this richly deserved recognition of her thought-provoking and original work.
