University of Oxford ranks second in the world for Theology, Divinity, and Religious Studies

We are delighted to announce that the University of Oxford has placed second in the world for Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies in the 2024 QS World University subject rankings. With an overall score of 91.9%, Oxford ranks just behind Harvard University (92%) and just ahead of the University of Notre Dame (91.8%).

The 20th edition of the QS World University Rankings By Subject features 1,500 institutions across 104 locations and is considered among the most influential of international university rankings. The Theology, Divinity, and Religious Studies survey was launched in 2017.

Professor William Wood, Chair of the Faculty, expressed pride in this accolade: 'We are effectively in a three-way tie for first place in the world. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, students, and staff. It underscores the global impact of our research and the high quality of our academic programmes.'
