1973-4 JRF Merton; 1974-1989 University Lecturer in Theology (Old Testament); 1989-91 Reader in Biblical Studies; 1991-2014 Oriel & Laing Professor of the Interpretation of Holy Scripture; 2014- SRF Campion Hall.
