I am originally from Lancaster in the North-West of England and read Philosophy and Theology at Oxford (Oriel College) before completing a Masters in Christian Theology at Durham University and a PhD at Emory University in the USA. I was Departmental Lecturer in Patristics at the University of Oxford and Tutor in Theology at Christ Church before moving to my current post as Departmental Lecturer in Philosophical Theology and Tutor in Theology at Oriel College. My research focusses on patristic (Early Christian) theology and philosophy, with a secondary interest in modern appropriations of patristic thought, especially within the recent ‘analytic theology’ movement. I also teach a variety of topics in historical, systematic, and philosophical theology, and in philosophy of religion.
