The Faculty of Theology and Religion is seeking to recruit a Graduate Studies Coordinator. This is a new post within the Faculty and the appointee will undertake duties that were previously carried out by a senior academic postholder. The successful applicant will provide significant support to the Director of Graduate Studies and take on many of their day-to-day duties, including committee work, coordinating graduate admissions, supporting and monitoring the progress of on-course graduate students, driving forward the necessary work to continue to improve graduate systems, and working with the Faculty’s Senior Development Executive to secure funding for graduate studentships. The postholder will initiate policy developments in the broad area of the graduate academic administration and support the graduate student community by organising social events and training, and by meeting with students one-to-one. The postholder will also work closely with the Head of Administration and Finance and the Faculty administrative team.
The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in a humanities discipline and have experience of supervising and teaching graduate students. They will have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and delegate appropriately. They will be an accomplished communicator with effective interpersonal skills, able to work with and inspire confidence in a wide range of people across the University.
The post is part-time (50% FTE) and fixed-term for 4 years. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will start on 1 May 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
