Job: Humanities and Public Policy Officer

Theology and Religion

Humanities and Public Policy Officer

Faculty of Theology and Religion, Gibson Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Oxford
Grade 7: £32,817 up to £35,845 p.a.

The University's vision is of one Oxford, bringing together staff, students and alumni, colleges, faculties, departments and divisions in ways which benefit society on a local, regional, national and global scale. Accordingly our researchers are increasingly recognized not only for their expertise and evidence, but also for their ability to collaborate to create new insights that inform and improve public policy.

The Humanities and Healthcare programme, led by Professor Joshua Hordern, is one way in which the University's Humanities Division and the Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities is realising this vision. As the Humanities and Public Policy Officer, you will be responsible for building close links with relevant healthcare, policy and academic leaders in the framework of this project. You will also support the work of the University-wide Policy Engagement Team with other researchers in the Humanities Division, enabling more researchers to engage effectively with the policymaking community in a wide range of research and policy areas.

You will have an understanding of and commitment to Knowledge Exchange and policy engagement, ideally related to the humanities. In addition, you will have the ability to develop and implement strategies, the initiative confidently to help develop ideas to enhance engagement and the policy impact of research, the skills to deliver this project in support of academic colleagues and the capacity to broker, build, maintain and use collaborative networks.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 31 July 2021, with a possibility of extension.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact joshua.hordern@theology.ox.ac.uk or william.pryor@socsci.ox.ac.uk.
