Associate Professor of New Testament Studies

FACULTY OF THEOLOGY AND RELIGION AND KEBLE COLLEGE

£44,620 - £59,914

The University proposes to appoint an Associate Professor in New Testament Studies. The post is available from 1 October 2015, or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointee will be a member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion and hold a tutorial fellowship at Keble College.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher and teacher in New Testament Studies. He or she will have a record of world-class research and publication in some aspect of the study of the New Testament and wide experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students.

The Associate Professor will undertake research and scholarship on the New Testament, give lectures, classes and tutorials, supervise, support and examine students at all levels, and play a part in the administrative work of the Faculty and the College. She/He will hold a doctorate in any field relating to New Testament studies and have a research record of international standing in the field. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable record of excellence in teaching and an ability to engage in syllabus development in Biblical Studies, evidence of competence in research supervision and of the ability to raise research funding, evidence of the ability and commitment to participate in the wider academic activities of both Faculty and College, as well as sympathy for the nature and aims of the college and a willingness to participate in collegiate life and government.
