Admissions Criteria
Tutors in Theology look at the UCAS form (examination results and predictions, personal statement, and reference), written work, and interview, in order to assess the academic merit and potential of applicants for Theology.
Candidates will normally be invited for interview providing they have good written work combined with a strong UCAS form (including reference, examination results and predictions), including the prediction of 3 'A' grades at A level (or the international equivalent).
Tutors assess candidates' written work and interview performance with reference to the following criteria.
The scriptural language requirement is an integral part of the Single Honour School of Theology, and all students without exception will be expected to demonstrate competence in it during the course of their programme of study. However, no prior knowledge of a language is required at the point of admission, and full training will be given in the first year of the course.
