To mark the 2016 Being Human Festival, Professor Sondra Hausner was interviewed by BBC Radio 3's Matthew Sweet for the Free Thinking programme. Professor Hausner is a participant in Hope and Fear at Crossbones Graveyard, which takes place on 23 November. The event takes the form of a dynamic public presentation about and within the ritual conducted at Crossbones, a former burial ground for paupers and sex workers. Based on a dialogue between John Constable, author of The Southwark Mysteries and activist for reclaiming Crossbones as a garden of remembrance for outcasts, and Professor Hausner, author of The Spirits of Crossbones Graveyard, the conversation between a ritualist and a researcher will expand into a full-blown shamanistic performance. The interview with Professor Hausner is available on the BBC Radio 3 website.
