Welcome to the Faculty of Theology and Religion in the University of Oxford

Oxford has the largest department for the study of Theology and Religion in the UK, and is a leading international centre for teaching and research.

While the Faculty maintains its historic strengths in the study of the Bible, the history of Christianity, Theology, and Philosophy, it is now also a major centre for the study of world religions, the relation between religion and science, and the place of religion in public life.

Please note: the administrative office of the Faculty will be closed from Monday, 25th August (Bank holiday), in preparation for the move to new premises in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter.

The office at 34 St. Giles’ will not be accessible during the week beginning Monday 25th August, and at some point in the same week the office computers will be disconnected, so it will not be possible to make e.mail contact. The move itself will take place on Monday 1st September, and we hope to have everything up and running as soon as possible after that. A message will be sent to indicate when the new offices are functioning.

The Faculty’s new address will be:

Gibson Building, (2nd floor)
Radcliffe Observatory Quarter
Woodstock Road
Oxford OX2 6GG
