Faculty of Theology
Oxford's Theology Faculty is the largest in the country and it is home to many scholars of international distinction. In the past year, as often before, it has topped the rankings in both the Times and Guardian university guides. While maintaining and developing its long-term strengths in biblical studies, church history and Christian doctrine, the Faculty has in recent years broadened its range to embrace the Study of Religion and work in the major religious traditions of the world, studied in the light of the human sciences.
There are some 340 students on different undergraduate courses and about 190 graduates undertaking both taught and research degrees. The core team of University Professors and Lecturers is 23-strong, and this is complemented by a wide-ranging Faculty membership of high quality. These include College lecturers, junior research fellows, and staff members at the Permanent Private Halls.

Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships 2012 - Preliminary Call
Applications in all areas of Theology and the Study of Religions are invited for this Fellowship, from suitably qualified researchers in the early stages of an academic career who wish to base their research in the Faculty of Theology of the University of Oxford. Applications from outside Oxford are particularly encouraged, but the Fellowship requires the support of a member of the Faculty willing to act as Mentor.
Oxbridge Open Day for Theology and Religion
Joint Oxford and Cambridge Open Day for Theology and Religion: This is a brand new, open event at the Sheldonian Theatre for individual students and school groups, offering information and advice on admissions in Theology and Religion in the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, with sample lectures from the two Regius Professors of Divinity, David Ford and Graham Ward.

Faculty of Theology name change
The Faculty of Theology plans to change its name to the Faculty of Theology and Religion from October 2012, subject to approval from the Council of the University and Congregation.
